Chiropractic Care
At Madsen Family Chiropractic, we work with the neuro-musculoskeletal system to discover where there may be an interference or dysfunction. Though gentle chiropractic adjustments and soft tissue treatment, chiropractic care will ease symptoms and will improve your body’s ability to function.
If your spine isn’t functioning optimally, it is possible that there might be a nerve compression or pinching. This can cause a lot of pain, back spasm, or other nerve dysfunction. Chiropractic removes the nerve dysfunction, thus easing pain and encouraging healing.
Some of the benefits of chiropractic include:
- Relief from neck and back pain
- Relief from joint pain
- Less headaches
- Better digestion
- Increased performance
At Madsen Family Chiropractic, we embrace two forms of care: relief and wellness care. During the pain relief stage we are able to:
- Express the cause of the pain/symptom
- Develop a treatment plan to achieve each patient’s goals
- Education opportunities of relief care and post-relief (wellness) care
- Create an accountability and trusting relationship that allows us to offer additional suggestions on ways the patient can aid in the healing process
Once the pain is under control, you can begin to enjoy the wellness care model. This approach will help decrease the chances of the pain from coming back and will help your body to function optimally without the need for drugs or surgery.
The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
Techniques
Dr. Brock utilizes the most advanced tools and techniques in chiropractic. He practices the diversified technique and also uses instrument-assisted tools to address specific issues. Diversified Technique is the classic chiropractic technique, developed by D.D. Palmer, DC. Diversified Technique addresses the biomechanical failure in each section of the spine, as it relates to a specific subluxation. Because Dr. Brock is a diversified practitioner, he has many ways to treat patients. No one treatment is ever the same, because no one has the same back. All of the techniques that Dr. Brock uses are gentle and safe.
Chiropractic Care in the Modern World
Recordings of spinal corrections being carried date back more than 4,000 years ago! Chiropractic care was first introduced in the United States in 1895. Today, it’s a different science and one that utilizes modern advancements in the field. What hasn’t changed is the commitment to treating one’s spine and nervous system in efforts to maintain health and wellbeing.
Chiropractic Adjustments
A chiropractic adjustment can make you feel so much better. Your body does not want to be out of alignment, and that’s exactly what an adjustment can help address. It is also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation. The adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. A chiropractic adjustment will assist in fixing these issues.
The goal of chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, increase the range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our compassionate and qualified chiropractor will work with you to relieve this pain and get you back to being pain free every single day.
Although many people visit their chiropractor and have an adjustment when something feels out of alignment, a regular visit will help you avoid any pain in the future and will keep your body feeling great all day long.
If you are having one of those days when you are not in the best mood, an adjustment may actually help. Your body will feel much better, which will naturally improve your mood.
Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
